At the Buddhist University where I am studying, Bangladeshi students has appointment for the protest which going to happen in Bangkok tomorrow, it is “Peace Walk for Bangladesh”.  Actually I thought I will skip this event because I have some homework to be finished within the next day.  When I turn back to concern that; Bangladeshi people is my friend, when our friends get suffering we should share our time to help them and regard that friend’s suffering come first.

And another reason that I decided to go to joint this “Peace Walk” because I realized that this is not the walk to against or to fight or to hate Muslims friends but it is the walk for create peace in Bangladesh.  When my objective was cleared inside I decided to joint this Peace Walk with no hesitate.

Wednesday 3rd October 2012

8.30 PM at Sanam Luang in Bangkok, opposite the Statue of Mother Earth.  I was here for the first person.  I felt strange that there were only a few monks here.  Some of them said to me, we have appointment here and they are coming soon.  Five minutes later, so many monks gradually have arrived.  This protest just likes a casual and easy appointment as one’s mouth to another’s.  Who easy come, please.  Who busy, no problem.  No limited for anyone. Every monastic of every nations can joint this even, not specific for Bangladesh. Anyone who support for peace in Bangladesh, you are welcomed.

At the beginning around 8.30 pm there is just a few monk

Just a few minutes later, more than 250 monks have joint together around the area.  This protest was guided by Bangladeshi monks in Thailand in the name of Buddhist Community of Bangladesh in Thailand.  The objective of this protest is to communicate that we need peace in Bangladesh due to 30th September, the Muslims in Bangladesh attacked and burnt more than 10 Buddhist temples and around 100 Buddhist houses.  The cause of this crisis emerged from the Muslims were not satisfied  that they found the symbolic of Koran was burnt on Buddhist boy’s profile in social network of Facebook which the news said that Buddhist boy did not post that picture by himself but he was tagged by another person.

A few minutes later, many monks joint together !
              --------------------------------------------------------------------------

This  Peace Walk, 90% are Bangladeshi Monks, the rest 10% are Indian Monks, Burma Monks and Thai Monks.  Various sizes of the signs and handouts were created and ready to distribute to people on the street to communicate for peace in Bangladesh.  Every monks show the sign with full intention.  After they managed for the Peace Walk for a few minutes then they started to walk.

9 PM  the International Monks for Peace Walk gradually moved from Sanam Luang to United Nation (UN) and Thai Paliament by the take care from Thai police for the whole route.  People on the street watched the Buddhist Monk march on the street with surprised and curious.  The traffic jammed for a little while because of the short march and the cloudy day support for this march as well.

The Peace Walk started from Sanam Luang to UN.
           ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sign has the clear message ‘WE WANT PEACE AND HARMONY’ , not against Muslims friends but support to create peace in Bangladesh.  The conductor monk said during the march, walk as two lines that create the orderly Peace Walk.

10 PM The Peace Walk has arrived the UN. (United Nations).  We set the signs as the roll in front of the UN building for the journalist to take the photos.  Many monks ‘Hi Park’ there through the micro phone to share their feeling and purpose of this Peace Walk.  The agent monks offered the messages of peace to the United Nations to let they know the expectation of peace in Bangladesh.

Most of this Peace Walk combined with Bangladeshi monks, India, and Burma.  Shall we, Thai people concern or not, the Buddhist monks in Asian neighborhood countries often have to experienced with violence, oppression, and restless in their counties.  These experiences cultivate them to brave to work with society.  At least this kind of protest they have to have brave hearts due to this is the protest in the realm of not their own counties.  They may risk for various kinds of obstacles.  By chance this is Thailand, a country which has freedom in one level so this effect to this Peace Walk meet with comfortable more than to meet with obstacles.

Finally, we would like to state to our stand point of this Peace Walk that we do not hate Muslim friends.  We do not need people to get wrong to this Peace Walk as the walking of hating Muslim friends or this Peace Walk against to any Muslim friends in any countries and we do not need to create hate to one another whatever faith we are.

The only thing we need is Peaceful in Bangladesh and let the relationship between Muslim friends and Buddhist friends in any countries full of Love, without hatred.

That is enough.
